To our valued customers of Fat Panda,

We would like to start off with thanking you all for your continued patronage.  We are glad you are coming to us with your concerns about product safety considering what is going on in the media these days.

Fat Panda has always championed the idea of harm reduction.  While we are never going to be able to say that vaping is healthy, we, along with Health Canada, and countless peer reviewed studies agree that vaping is a definite reduction in harm than traditional smoking.  We have always maintained that the best thing you could breath in is pure air, and if vaping can be the catalyst to transition people from smoking only breathing in air, we have succeeded in our goal.

Ever since our inception, we have sourced our hardware from legitimate dealers, manufacturers, and distributors.  Due to our early position in the market, we were able to forge relationships with manufacturers of verified brands that follow stringent electronic manufacturing guidelines who adhere to local and international governmental regulations.  Furthermore, we are always in contact with them to ensure they are implementing the newest technological breakthroughs that come.  This market has been ever evolving since we opened, and I’m sure has evolved a ton since you’ve started purchasing from us.  With new developments and new information, these companies have been changing their practices to offer the safest product and alternatives for the masses.  Products have only become safer as the new developments come.  This is the reason we don’t bring in every device that gets released to the market.  We are actually late to the party with some new devices as we always want to fully test, review, and ensure the devices we bring in are of top quality, and don’t pose any risk/problematic experiences for the end user.

As for the juices that we manufacture and/or import.  Please be advised that we have personal relationships with all the manufactures of juices we import.  We deal with a select few juice manufacturers in the United States and in Canada to ensure we know exactly how their product is formulated, handled, stored, etc.  We, along with our partners, have been anticipating and preparing ahead of time to ensure we are ahead of the curve for any type of regulation that comes.  We welcome regulation as it only helps to form the standards needed to provide high quality and safer product for the end user.  As for the juices we manufacture, we have invested in an ISO9001 certified clean room/lab, and are pursuing our GMP certification.  All our lab technicians have taken their Foodhandler’s certificates, and our higher ups have acquired HAZMAT certification for handling nicotine.

We source all our raw materials from recognized distributors of Kosher, fully food grade products.  Our flavourings are exactly the same type of flavourings confectioners and cooks use to infuse pastries, beverages, candies etc.

As for the information that has been going through the media as of late, although scary, we would like to reassure you that it has been known that a high proportion of the problematic items that are causing health concerns stem from individuals vaping bootleg/illegal THC/CBD cartridges, or have been altering legitimate e-juices/vape cartridges with products that are not approved for vaporizing or inhalation.  We are closely monitoring all the headlines and have been watching at how sensationalized the whole ordeal has become.

Please be advised that Fat Panda Manufactured E-Liquid is produced solely of the following ingredients:

  • Vegetable Glycerine 99.7% USP
  • Propylene Glycol 99.7% USP
  • Nicotine USP 99.9% Pure
  • Food Grade Flavouring (suspended in Propylene Glycol, and tested to ensure it meets USP required standards)

Fat Panda will never use the following ingredients, as well, NO USER shall use any product if they suspect it has been synthesized with the following:

  • Tocopheryl Acetate, also known as Vitamin E Acetate (or any derivatives)
  • MCT Coconut Oil
  • Any Lipid or Fatty Acid of any kind
  • Food Colouring

Or any ingredients listed in the TVPA banned items https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/T-11.5/page-12.html#h-450049

We hope this helps clarify any questions you may have regarding the safety of the products, and again, we thank you for your inquiry into the safety of our products.  We welcome any further questions you have, and hope you are continuing on your way to becoming nicotine free!

Sincerely,

Fat Panda

!!!BEWARE OF FAKE OR MANIPULATED NEWS!!!

!!!MAKE SURE TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK REGARDING WHAT THE MEDIA IS SAYING!!!

There has been a frenzy over the past few weeks regarding a recent severe outbreak of respiratory illnesses and potential deaths being unfairly attributed to Vaping by the media.  Fat Panda as well as the International Vaping Community collectively want to remind the public that we are continuously standing behind the fact that Electronic Cigarettes and Vaping are valuable tools in smoking cessation and therefore, should still be respected as a harm reduction method in consideration of the proven lethal effects of traditional smoking.

The sensationalization of the recent illness outbreak is something the public should approach with skepticism.  Please be aware that vaping has been around for over a decade, and much of the traditional composition of the Hardware/Juices have remained unchanged.  Over those years, not one illness, fatality, or outbreak has been successfully attributed to vaping. For something to abruptly surface over a decade later in such a strong fashion must relate to a more recent phenomenon or anomaly, ie: the confirmed usage of THC vaping cartridges, laced with Vitamin E Acetate affecting the MAJORITY of reported illness sufferers.

Since inception, vaping devices have become more ergonomic and effective, while juices have become more palatable and professionally/responsibly produced.  The vast majority of producers in the global market have proceeded to pre-emptively invest in Manufacturing, Processing, and Facility Certifications to provide high quality products to the end users.  Regulative measures have been welcomed across the board to ensure the market evolves to a higher level of conduct so as to curb any potential harm to the end user.

Furthermore, the governing and reporting bodies who are putting forth the information are doing so in a poor fashion so as to blur the lines between the true culprit of the outbreak and the vaping community.  This should be a key indicator that ulterior motives are at play considering the relationship between the governments, tobacco companies & lobbyists, big pharma, and the future proliferation of the cannabis/hemp industry.

Although we may never be able to fully claim vaping is 100% risk free, there have been academic studies by Public Health England maintaining that vaping is at least 95% less harmful than traditional cigarette smoking.  Likewise, Health Canada agrees that vaping is a safer product to consume versus cigarette smoking. It is important to understand that although the media is trying to blame vaping for the under 1000 reported illnesses, we must remember the following statistics:

  • Tobacco Kills up to 50% - 66% of its users (BBC, and World Health Organization)
  • Tobacco kills more than 8 million people each year (That’s almost 22,000 PER DAY.) (World Health Organization, Tobacco)
  • More than 7 million of those deaths are the result of direct tobacco use while around 1.2 million are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke. (World Health Organization, Tobacco)
  • The Government of Canada collects over $8 BILLION dollars from the Tobacco Industry in tax (2017-2018 Fiscal Year - Financial Post)
    • According to Time Magazine: CDC Says That THC Could Be Behind Vaping Deaths and Illnesses:

      • In data collected from more than 500 patients, 77% reported using THC products or using both THC and nicotine. About 36% reported using only products with THC. The CDC said 16% of patients said they only vaped nicotine and not THC.

  • “The CDC also said “Dank Vapes” appears to be the leader in a large class of counterfeit brands of vape cartridges with THC that have similar packaging and are easy to buy online and in stores.
  • Others labels include TKO, Off White, Moon Rocks, Cookies, Chronic Carts, Mario Carts, Kingpen, California Confidential, Cereal Carts and Supreme G.”
